Handsets, Softphones & Smartphones - The choice is yours

Our Hosted PBX and Mobile PBX portfolio of services have been designed to operate with a broad range of well established Handsets, Softphones and Smartphones from all the major vendors; including Polycom, Cisco, Linksys, Siemans, Counterpath, xTen, Nokia and Apple.

Handsets.

The Polycom range of IP handsets is the default recommended for new customers coming to Hosted PBX. This extremely broad range combines the highest levels of voice quality with great functional design, feel, competitive price and full interoperability with our technology platform. The complete Polycom range can be purchased through 01 telecom or alternatively can be directly sourced - the choice is yours.

For customers who are currently using the Cisco 7900 or Linksys 941/942 range of handsets, we offer an extremely cost effective software upgrade to these handsets to make them fully compatible and with full interoperability to our Hosted PBX platform. Additional Cisco and Linksys handsets can be purchased through 01 telecom or alternatively can be directly sourced.

For wireless handsets requirements on a site or within an office/warehouse, all standard DECT phones can be used or the latest IP DECT phone range from Siemans.

Softphones

Most commercially available softphones are interworked tested and compliant with our Hosted PBX platform. We recommend the eyebeam from Counterpath inc, for competitive price, ease of configuration, reliability and call quality.

Smartphones

The Nokia E series phones and the latest Apple iPhone 3GS are the easiest to configure, operate and use with our Hosted PBX and Mobile PBX portfolio.

When used in conjunction with our Hosted PBX of Mobile PBX portfolios, these phones become two phones in one. A normal GSM/3G mobile phone with associated mobile network telephone number, call charges and when registered on a WiFi network a SIP phone with a fixed line telephone number, extension number (short code dialling); making and receiving calls at local call rates to fixed line telephones or zero cost when calling other Hosted or Mobile PBX users within your business.

The latest Nokia E series range come pre loaded with a SIP client which is the software need to run our portfolio of services. The SIP client is completely embedded in the core phone software means that your Hosted or Mobile PBX telephone number and extension number are fully consistent and compliant with your personal contact list, call answer, call generation functionality . The phone auto registers with our platform when it recognises pre determined Wireless Access Points (Wifi).

The iPhone requires the SIP client software to be purchased separately, although several are available for less then $5 from the Apple iStore. Our recommended software is 1Q by fred, is very simple to download, configure and has proved to be extremely reliable.
